The recent thread concerning the notch at the top of Jeep grilles has =
been interesting. I see where it has been stated that this is to =
accomodate the seam in the center of the hood. My 1948 CJ2A has a flat =
support rod measuring 3/4" wide by 1/4" thick extending from this notch =
rearward to the cowl. This is in addition to the round rod from the top =
of the radiator to the cowl. If the notch is to make room for the seam =
then could this be something someone added on or was this a later =
factory add on?
