Actually, I think you're incorrect. According to my AP Chemistry book,
Propane's combustion energy is only slightly lower than that of Octane.
The problem is transporting it as the volume, etc is a pain. Still, I
have a friend with a 79 pickup that has been converted to propane and it
runs great. Conversions should only cost $500-$1000 depending on the
vehicle.
