You might get a kick out of this.
One of the towns near me in MA. Can't remember which, years back was given
an artillery piece from WWII. The Gov towed it into the town square and
drove away.
Come to find out after a recent inspection, they are inspecting all guns
like this in Ma now as well as armor; they never demilled it. Someone
slipped up and sent a working gun to the town. The town was given a list of
things that would need to be done to De-mill it. The town decided they
didn't want the hassle and told the Gov to come and tow it away.
