I also need "top hat" channel for my tub. I took some measurements and
found that there were two different forms. I went to a few local sheet
metal shops until I found one that had the proper tooling to bend the
channel. I gave them a sketch and they made it out of 18ga by four
feet long. I was charged $10 for each piece and had it the next day.
Shop around and see what you can find locally it'll pay in the long
run as I now get their "crops" at scrapper prices.
I used oak in the channels but treated it with Thompsons water sealer
first. I fugure this jeep ain't gonna see much wet weather setting in
the garage under a cover.
