My 1967 Jeep M715's #6 piston pin decided to tear 2 huge gouges in the
cylinder wall. Now I'm looking for an economical fix. My 2 options are to
have the original 230 TORNADO bored and sleeved, or to find a better engine.
My questions:
1) Does anybody know if the 232 or any other jeep engine is the same as the
230 (from an engine mount and bellhousing bolt pattern standpoint)? I'm
trying to get off as easily as possible by pulling the old engine out and
slapping a more common engine in without the use of an adapter and a welder.
OR,
2) Does anyone know of ANY vehicle that came equipped with a Warner T98A
transmission? I'm hoping that one of the local junk yards will have some
vehicle like this so I can yank that engine and bellhousing and slap it into
my truck.
Any advice/input/tip is GREATLY appreciated.
