The info I have found showed that this series of trucks were made from
1952-59 which is concurrent with some "Reo"production. I seems as though
the Reo was the preferred design. Most of these trucks never left the
Continental US, although some did see service in Korea as units deployed
there. This series was the first to use an automatic tranny in a mainline
truck and there are numerous opinions about it. Most everything since
has been a manual, I believe. Try Vermont Commercial Salvage in Burlington,
VT for parts. He's got a fairly large stock pile. Any other sources you
find, drop me a line please. According to the book I found, the 211 was
standardized in 1954.
