Hi,
If they are American WWII MC bags the following will probably be a good description:

#11786-XM saddle bag for 1941-1952 HD WLA models. The bags were produced in both smooth-grain and pebble grain leather. They have a box like lid. Three leather straps with parkerized steel or black painted brass buckles are used to close the cover and two tie-back straps are used on the sides to prevent the bag from swaying. The bag mounts to special plates welded to the luggage rack. The plates on the luggage rack have four key-slot holes and the matching plates have four stepped studs on them to lock into the key slots.

#11875-43 saddle bag for 1943-1944 HD WLC models. Externally it is the same as the #11786-XM saddle bag for the US-ARMY. Internally it has a large leather pocket sewn inside.

Replicas of these bags cost about US$250 a set. Originals are between US$200 - US$350 a set (in Holland) depending on condition. I opted for replicas for my 1943 WLA after checking some originals that were too brittle by age to be of any use.

Question: Are your saddle bags of the type described above, are they usable in for day-to-day use? What do you ask for them?

Thanks,

Subject: [MV] MC Saddlebags

Hello,

I have recently recieved a pair of sallde bags that were reported to be WWII
Motorcycle bags. As I don't have a WWII MC I was wondering if there was
someone that could tell me if they have any interest in these, if they were of
any value and how much. They seem to be in good shape. There is some of the
usual cracking on the belts but the rest of the leather seems to be in real
good shape. If they are indeed what I was told I would rather see them on an
original bike rather than just collecting dust.

Thank you in advance
