Ok group, I'm cleaning up a master cylinder for a dodge WC 1/2 ton. About a
'41ish model. I don't have my manual with me so I was wondering if some of
you guys/girls could help me out. I am looking at the master cylinder as I
type (it is being dismantled on my wife's dinning room table!!!) so I hope I
can describe my dilemma fairly well. The cone shaped apparatus, the area
the push rod from the brake pedal actually pushes forward, is the main area
of concern. I removed the snap ring/o ring and the washer and was assuming
the entire "cone shaped" part would come out, allowing me to get to the
inside parts to clean/replace anything that was necessary. To my dismay,
the "cone shaped" part will not come out. It moves forward and backward
_very_ easily and fluidly but it just will not come out. Is it not supposed
to? Is there something else I need to do? It is really gummy inside there
and I believe there is a rubber washer that has dissolved, I really need
in!!! Is this cone shaped device just getting stuck at this certain
position before it comes out??? Any help appreciated!!
