[MV] C2 Crash Wrecker

I'm trying to find any info about the WW2 C2 crash wrecker. A photo would
be great. My Dad was in charge of four of them in Africa in WW2. He says
built by Autocar, Gar Wood winches & boom, two flathead Hercules engines in
line with each other, four axles. They pulled either a shop van to repair
the downed aircraft or a lowboy to retrieve it. There is a photo on the
Signal Corps website under C2 nomenclature but Dad says too small & only 3
axles.Were there several variants? I'd sure like to find out more about
