Dave Cole, Dr. Deuce 264-0909, and other interested parties,

I thought I had seen some data on engine horsepower in the manuals
somewhere but, after looking I remembered where I seen it. The Standard
Catalog of U.S. Military Vehicles, 1940-1965, by Thomas Berndt, Listed the
Brake Horsepower of the M211 at 130 @ 3400rpm. I'm not sure this is correct
or not and the author doesn't list his source. However, after owning an
XM211 for the past 6 years, I really can't complain. I does seen a little
underpowered on heavy acceleration and hills but, on level ground, It holds
its speed pretty good. It also helps to have a transmission that's in good
shape and that all the wheels roll good. I.E. no dragging brakes or bad
bearings. I have several time had my XM211 up to 60mph on flat, level
ground, empty.
