I do not know what the AN stands for, but in the tech manuals I just =
got, one of the mentions the VRC stands for Voice Radio Communications. =
As far as the AN/VRS-47 goes, I drove a M151A2 all over Germany with one =
mounted on the drivers side rear fender. The 47 is actually two radios, =
an RT-524 and a RT-442 Aux. radio mounted along side. Two antennas and =
microphones, but there could have been one mic and a switchbox between =
the two.

You might try Fair Radio for a working RT-524, they have them in their =
catalog and for a lot less than the $1500.00 I recently saw listed in =
the supply line. If you just want the box, Steve Haney of Haney Radio =
has them as well as working units, but I am not sure of the price, but =
I'm sure that it is competitive.

I just finished mounting a AN/VRC-46 on my M151A2, if I can answer any =
questions, please let me know.

Subject: [MV] radio in M151a2

Question to all. Was the AN/VRC 47 radio installed in the M151a2? If not
what was the preferred radio to be mounted in the mutt? What would be
the going price for something like that? Also, what does the acronym for
AN/VRC stand for? I don't think I have ever read or heard what this
means.
