That sounds like a very fair price for running equipment, however if you
are going to restore a vehicle such as that, you may be better off findin=
g
a near complete vehicle (which may be the case with the running one?) and=
go that route. From my vehicle collecting experience I think you need to=
determine what is "worth" restoring. I really don't know if you can real=
ly
make any money restoring a 211. =
I just don't think that the market for restored 6x6's is sizable. WW2
jeeps and the such are another matter altogether. =
I've got a line on a 211 right now but it has a large asphalt tank on th=
e
back, it doesn't run (the owner really doesn't know), it has 27,000 miles=
on it, needs 5 tires and a lot of work to be restored, however it could b=
e
a very useable truck. The I think I can get the truck for about $500-$70=
0,
so that might give you some comparison. The problem with the truck is
disposing of the asphalt tank. You can't exactly remove it an put it out=
in the trash. I'm trying to find out if the asphalt tank/pump/aux engine=
is worth anything to anyone. Perhaps it can pay for the truck, we'll see=
=2E =
I'm not planning on restoring the 211, but actually using it. I just
buried my 1 ton dually truck in mud yesterday. Only got it out by diggin=
g
and the help of a farm tractor. A 6x6 might be useful.
Say, how are you able to transport both of those truck for $300 for 100
miles for both of them?
If you decide not to pursue those trucks, let me know, I might want to go=
after them if you're not too far from me. I'm in northern Indiana.
Good Luck,
Dave

>Hi list, I need your knowledge on the pros and cons of purchasing 2
M-211's.
One is just the frame and cab, and the other is complete except for the
bed.
Purchase price may be around $500 total for both, shipping $300 for both
for
100 miles. The second one runs, but how hard is it to get parts, and are=
they
worth restoring? Thank you in advance. I have been reading your letters=
from
everyone and all the ideas of different subjects are interesting, and som=
e
are
very helpful. =
