Hello All,
I just got back from lunch and couldn't wait to get home to email
everyone. So I signed on to this list and am emailing from work. A
friend told me of a truck that it was a military GMC truck 2 1/2 ton on
a farm. I was thinking it was probably a CCKW. I went to look at it
today and it wasn't. I went to look at the data plate and it said:
General Motors
1 1/2 - 3 Ton 4 x 4
Supply Arm or Service Maintaining Vehicle
Model AFKX 352
Serial # 1080
Date of Delivery 8-18-41
Does anybody know what this is? It was in a group of cedars and
thickets. Looked like it had been sitting there a good 15-20 years. A
cedar tree was growing up through the frame. Needs help. Very restorable
though. Parts missing include hood and grill and back door. It looked
like a school bus but its not. Is this vehicle rare? Do you know where
some pics are of this truck are?
Also, I also know where there is an old Diamond T tank transporter.
This truck needs some serious help. This truck has been modified
slightly. This has been sitting in a field for some time also. The man
who owned it hauled cranes on it. The tank transport trailer has been
cut to hell because this man modified it to fit his cranes. What is this
truck? Is this vehicle rare too? I am not up date so to speak on WWII
trucks.
