All true Colin, but you have to recognize that all the vehicles and
bits belonging to people that were easy to deal with have been sold or
scrapped long since..... Nothing better than finally getting your
sticky paws on some vehicle or bit because you have kept in touch with
a reluctant seller for years and made sure they couldn't forget you.
I've been visiting the owner of the last completely original A.E.C.
Matador gun tractor in this half of the UK for the last 7 or 8 years, I
just drop in occasionaly to see how he is and take a photo or two
(sometimes I even have film in the camera) It has been parked up since
he drove it home from the army sale. Eventually it will need new tyres
and a drivers screen and that's all, but then it is stored dry in a
garage. Must be a swine visiting someone who is keeping some desirable
piece of kit out in the weather and watching it gradually dissolve.
That reminds me - the guy with the Matador must be due for another
