I'm hoping someone can help me with some MB/GPW info.
Last week I was driving my M151 down a side street when an older woman
called from her driveway "Do you need another windshield for your jeep?"
I stopped and she took me back to her garage (full to the top with misc.
nick nacks.) We extracted a GPW or MB windshield (perhaps M38, I don't
know these jeeps well enough) No glass, some rust, but sound, the glass
frames still swing on the top hinges. One wiper handle on the top
passenger side. Not noteworthy, but for a 6" by 3" baked enamel placard
riveted to the front of the windscreen just below the window. I wish I
wrote down what it said, but in red lettering on a white background
something to the effect of "Give Blood, US Red Cross" etc. It was that
40's style baked enamel , slightly chipped on one corner, but overall in
perfect condition.
What is the windshield worth?
What is the sign worth?
I don't need it for my M151, but I'd be happy to help someone working on
an ambulance restoration, etc.
