my head since it was thought that the engine was actually two engine bloc=
ks
in line. Of course as I read the messages I was thinking to myself, neat=
engine, but what the hell is the chances of my seeing one of those. Well=
guess what! =
I was at the Columbus Science center (COSI) located in Columbus, Ohio thi=
s
last weekend. There was a 1931 Seagrave fire engine in the entrance to t=
he
building and there was that engine. It was a very large straight six
engine with two cylinder heads and as was described before, two spark plu=
gs
per cylinder. =
Apparently Seagrave fire engines were made in Columbus and the Hercules
engine was made nearby in Ohio. I forgot where, but it said on the engin=
e
nameplate. I can see why that engine could look like two separate
engines put inline with the 12 spark plugs sticking out the top of the tw=
o
cylinder heads. So if anyone wants to see one of those engines, you know=
where one is. You don't even have to pay to see it, it is out front in t=
he
lobby before the ticket counters.
