Hi Harry,

Actually, there have been a few discussions on this topic and a number of =
the list members have purchased items from various DRMOs around the=20
country.

For example, I just bought an unusually nice and complete M101A1 trailer =
in a sealed bid sale from the DRMO at Hill AFB. In fact, I picked it up =
yesterday. It was one that I found on the DRMS website. It had all the =
front, side, and rear racks, all in great shape, and a complete NOS set of =
top bows, plus what appear to be the original tires, still with the =
molding nubs on the tread. All the lights work, etc. The only thing it =
needs is a narrow strip of metal replaced in the bed where someone did a =
sloppy job welding it on...plus some new paint. I managed to get a pretty =
good deal on it...about 1/3 to 1/2 of what you'd expect to pay from a =
private party.

But you'll always miss a few things...someone outbid me by 93 cents on a =
brand-new ultrasonic cleaner...probably about a three- or four-thousand =
dollar unit originally.

The DRMO was very easy to deal with and it only took about 10 minutes to =
get all of the paperwork done, including an official Certificate to Obtain =
Title.

Regards,

Alan

Has anyone out there had any experience,(good or bad) bidding on surplus
from the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) Their web site
has a vast quantity of surplus materials for sale to the public, I just
wonder why I haven't seen it mentioned as I read through the postings.
