Not an MV item but someone may know the answer...
I have a MK1 Enfield Bren deactivated according to UK gun laws.
I want to strip it down as far as legally possible and am following the
strip-down instructions in the Small Arms Training Pamphlet for the Bren.
I am trying to get the Magazine locking catch and ejector off, the Pamphlet
states one should pull the locking pin out to the stop(done that), cock the
gun (done), and then push the locking catch and ejector forwards until they
come free - on my Bren these will not shift - The parts have not been welded
as part of the deactivation process, so should come off.... Is there some
small secret I'm missing? Surely I dont have to use a hammer? Could I be
having a problem because when deactivating the gun the front end of the bolt
is removed, and that this is required to lift the end of the ejector up...
guessing here.... because perhaps there is some catch upon which the ejector
otherwise rests, hence the requirement to cock the gun.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Tim Bell
