The March 98 issue of Automobile Magazine has a short article on Pinzgauers
and Haflingers. Photos show 4x4 Pinz, 6x6 Pinz, and Haflinger, one photo
each.
The article states, "...when a six-wheel-drive Pinzgauer is doing its
stuff...explains why motorings answer to the mountain goat is used by
special forces of America, Britian, and other nations.
Question: Which American (or British) special force units used the
Pinzgauer. Seems strange that US forces would use a vehicle built in
Austria. Anybody seen one in use by the US military?
If you have an interest in these strange beasts, you might want to grab a
copy of the magazine. Photos are interesting but the article isn't very
good. Might be better to just read it at the magazine rack and save $3.50.

Bob
