Most WW2 US vehicles had a roll of soft iron wire in the spare parts
kits. The only pictures from manuals that I have seen show what looks
like a large cotton reel - is this the only way the wire was
supplied?
The reason I ask is that in a past Army Motors (an edition with
the Christmas photo's), there was a colour picture of a jeep
spare parts kit that showed a loose roll of wire.
Which is correct? Does anyone have a closeup picture of one of the
cotton reel type rolls of wire so maybe I can copy it or better yet a
spare roll of wire to sell. I heard someone in Supply Line was
advertising these in the past year or so.
Thanks in advance.
