I've seen & used Heli-Coil repair inserts used with great success on small
block chevys with the same problem. It's an easy repair you can do at home.
The kit costs a few bucks but you have it forever, you just get more inserts.
Remember when installing the insert to go just past the top of the block
(about one thread depth) so the insert doesn't cause trouble with the gasket
and head sealing properly.
