<< I would like to apologize to you and any other members of this mil-veh list
that may share similar feelings regarding the "boneyard" posting I made a
couple of days ago. I suppose a further explanation of why I made the
posting
is in order so, hopefully, nobody else will get as "ticked off" as you
obviously did. >>
I must have missed the posting where someone got 'ticked off' at you for not
wanting to disclose the location of your boneyard find. I cannot believe that
anyone would fault you for keeping this close to your chest!
Being of modest means, any finds that I have the slightest interest in never
leave my lips for fear of losing them to a big bucks guy who will swoop in and
pay double what I can for it.
I almost lost a GPW this way once, and it will never happen again!
If people want to get P.O.'d at us for sitting on finds, let 'em! I spent the
time on the backroads looking for them.
That said, if I find something that I have no particular interest in or am
absolutely positive I will never be able to aquire I will tell someone who is
looking all I can about it with hopes that they can rescue it. I have done
this several times, and will continue to do so.
P.S. If it's the same place I'm thinking of I was there in October and the
Stuart (covered with a tarp) is still there, but the DUKW is getting rough.
Good luck!
Greg
