Folks, don't get these fluids mixed up! According to what I've read:

DOT 5 is a SILICONE-based fluid.

DOT 5.1 is a GLYCOL-based fluid that is supposedly compatible with DOT 3 =
and 4.

There are 2 different types of dot 5 that i know of.Cheap and expensive.The=

cheap is not worth it.It contaminated a friend of mines whole system.We
ended up using the dow corning stuff and problem solved.(after all seals
were replaced)
