[MV] Day time running lights

I can't licence my recently aquired (imported) M151 in Canada untill it
passes a safety inspection.
among other things it must have "day time running lights".
This means that the lights must automaticly
come on whenever the car is running .
I am told that this is an easy wiring job on a regular 12V car but
what about a 24V vehicle with a millitary type light swich.
Has anyone here done this yet?
