Thanks to all who replied--I can't believe I was considering drilling
holes in my transfer case when there are two incredibly obvious holes in it
already. Home Depot probably sells suitable fittings for it as well.

As far as the electric oil pump goes, there will be an on/off switch for
the oil pump inside the cab of the truck. You only need to operate it when
the oil is hot, and therefore thinner. Hopefully the consumer-grade oil
pumps sold by JC Whitney will be up to the task.

As for synthetic oils, I would tend to avoid it for the time being.
It's not that it isn't suitable (or ideal for that matter). Its just that
my input and output shaft seals leak a little---OK, quite a bit---and
synthetic oil tends to slide past the worn selas with much less effort than
petroleum-based oil.
