The following is from Jane's MVs and Logistics.
"When production of the M715 was completed, AM General developed a version
for export called the AM715. In appearance it is almost identical to the
M715, but has a more powerful engine. They are in widespread service
overseas."

Jeep later built an updated version of the AM General truck called the
AM720. These trucks look like a Jeep J-20 series truck but with an M715
style bed. They are both rag tops. The front wheel openings in the
fenders are squared like the civilian trucks instead of rounded like the
M715. The AM715 and AM720 were both fitted with the 258 engine.

The M715 has a divorced transfer case, so virtaully any engine/trans could
be fitted with relative ease. I once put a supercharged 353 Detroit from a
Goat into one. Pretty easy swap if you don't value your hearing.
