Yup, got it in one Andreas, military vehicles did not start in 1939.
However now we know that the Rubicon is both a river and a trail in the
US (presumably named after it ?) and any protracted discussion might
be a little boring. 8-)

So going back to earlier MVs anyone on the list have any WW1 trucks ?
I also remember being most impressed by Fred Crismon's coverage of the
Quartermaster Co's Standard Fleet in his 'US Miltary Wheeled Vehicles'
book. I imagine getting parts for these must involve lots of
fabrication work, though I do remember a television series in the UK
(Classic Trucks- narrated by John Peel) that featured a Mack Bulldog
that had survived two world wars and a hard life as a construction
truck, being outfitted with a WW2 cargo / dump body and pneumatic
tyres. certainly room for genuine MV discussion of any era - subject
to Arthur' approval of course. 8-) Gordon
