Thanks to all who have given their thoughts. I have a possible solution
to my VIN problem. I'm told that in tracking stolen vehicles that an acid
is used to raise the ground off frame numbers. I intend to pursue this
angle with the DMV, but I need to know the exact position and location
of the frame number on a GPW. I been told it's behind the driver's side
front shock mount on top of the frame , but how far behind and its it
centered on the top or to the inside or outside? I'd like to limit the
search area and amount of this acid wash. Thanks again.
