[MV] removing decals

on my m715 it has the relective letters used by gov't agencies such as mine
it says:"macon county rescue" since i am unable to sell the vehicle i guess i
will
drive it some. i want to remove the letters,i have tried a heat gun with no
luck,
does anyone on the list know of a better way without harming the paint (od)
