<< As an aside
i have a vehicle now that gets really hot when running at 60mph but will
idle or put around at 35mph all day and not move above the middle of the
temp gauge, any ideas? >>
Had a similar problem with my 44 GPW. My brother, the certified racing engine
mechanic, suggested that I remove the thermostat. I did so. The problem was
not solved. Why? Because the thermostat was not the problem. Rust buildup
inside the water jacket of the motor was the problem. It may be your problem
as well. You should always test your thermostat before installing it but I
don't think it is wise or necessary to run your vehicle without one.
