[MV] MB Lights

I have a 44 MB that I need help understanding the head & tail light
sequence. I have the the type of light switch that you
turn (verses pull) with a push button in the center which unlocks
certain light patterns. My problem is that the tail lights
have been stolen and I am trying to wire new NOS lights I have bought.
My questions are:

Do the brake lights work all the time regardless of switch setting?

Do both tail lights come on when when the headlights are switched
on?
Does all of the switch settings flow through the trailer connector
as well?
