My friend started looking around for a parts jeep or Ford frame he could
put it on--he made a phone call and found this--
A GPW with a CJ body for sale for $3500. Sitting down now--the frame
number on it is *GPW1835*. I didn't leave out any serial number
digits--that is it--4 digit number---basically a first couple of days
March 42. I assume this would be a Ford on a Willys frame. He says it
isn't running, probably has a Ford engine in it, and a decently finished
CJ body.
My friend is going to take a look at it via pictures, and then if they
look good so see it. He is still unsure if he wants to buy it--mainly
because of bad timing--but he also realizes the value of the vehicle--is
getting copies of AAW I and II, and contemplating the entire purchase.
I told him to buy both of them--switch the bodies and dump the CJ/M-38
/whatever it is and get some money back to put into the GPW. Another
option is to maybe use the CJ I have for sale to make two out of three
and sell the one.
Interesting huh? If he decides not to go for it, I'll post where they
are so people can jump on it. Talk about putting two pieces of a puzzle
together. TAS
