I recently purchased a M38A1 from a farmer friend. I rode in it as late as
last fall, so I know it has run. I have new plugs and wires, and all show
good spark. Starter turns the engine fine, and fuel is pumping to the carb.
It doesn't act like it wants to kick over, and when I pull plugs after
trying they are bone dry. No gas seems to be getting to them. Any ideas?
Also, I have no idea what year this jeep is from. No papers with the
purchase. After many tedious minutes of scraping away three layers of paint,
I revealed the serial number MD 22468 from the data plate behind the
passenger seat. Is there any registry that can tell me anything about that
number?
