I pulled the tank yesterday, and found that this NOS replacement that I
installed a year ago is a rubber bladder. The unleaded gas was eating the
tank completely up. I now am looking for an original tank which was metal
with a rubber coating on the outside(I gave mine away to another guy
restoring his track--big mistake).
I also did some experimenting on the bogie wheel wear problem. I both
tightened and loosened the track pressure, but neither helped. The track
is pulling toward the outside causing the metal guides on the bogies to be
ground down. It is worse toward the rear, and has ground about 1/2" into
the rear bogie in only 40 miles of operation. The tracks are running the
correct direction and nothing looks bent on the frame or suspension. Does
anybody have a clue what can be adjusted on the rear idler to pull the
track straight again??
Thanks again,
Cliff Dahl
