I would ask the commercial operators. They seem to have knack for taking a
perfectly good DUKW and ripping out the tire inflation system, removing the
entire drive train (engine, transmission, axles, and wheels) and painting the
DUKWs bright yellow, red, or white. After dismantling the DUKW's, they throw
the old parts "in the trash" as I was told by one of the commercial operators
out of Branson. They also indicated that they had "over 100 hulls" sitting
around rotting outside that they won't consider selling. So, if you're going
to trash a DUKW, I'd say you should probably go the the commercial operators.
They're the undisputed experts at it.

<< There are now several commercial dukw tours across the U.S. that have
changed over to disk brakes. Some are changing the entire axles over, and
some are using the original axles.
Does anyone know which vehicle's disk brakes would be the easiest to adapt
to the original dukw axles?
