If this was my truck, and I was happy that the engine was turning OK,
with everything in the right place, I'd hitch it up to a solid bar tow
to a bigger vehicle, and tow it for 1/2 a mile in third gear, high
range with the front axle out of gear, flipping the ignition on after a
hundred yards or so. It is not uncommon for new engines to be so tight
that the starter just will not do the necessary work. If it does start
and does not sound distressed DO NOT SWITCH IT OFF until it is up to
operating temperature. Keep an eye on the oil pressure and engine
temperature till it gets to the stage where it will idle happily. You
may have to set the engine to a fast idle for the first 1 hour or so of
running in.
