About a year ago I posted a message about an M38A1 registry. Over time it
seems I have lost those files/e-mails. In light of the fact that there
isn't a strong reference for the M38A1 related to S/N, Date of Delivery and
Hood Numbers, has anyone out there started or maintained such a list?
If not, I would propose to be a contact for starting such a reference. I
would be interested in items such as:
Owner Name (for contact reference with other 38a1 owners)
City/State/Contact number or e-mail (same as above)
Year of Vehicle
Serial Number - Authentic/Original
Hood Number - Authentic/Original, OR....is it 'made-up' and what is the made
up one?
Branch of Service. (army, marines etc)
I forsee all conditions of vehicles in the registry. Restored, on
farms/ranches/junkyards, where you know of one or your own etc. This seems
to be a good starting point to help others who may be missing a dataplate,
VIN plate or hood numbers and would like to 'bracket' their vehicle. It
could also serve as a technical reference between owners for Q&A type
activities.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thx!
Scott
