[MV] Generator Insulators

I have heard that there are insulators that are on the bolt attaching =
points of the generator. I loooked at the generator of my M135 and I =
don't see them. It seems to run fine and charge. Do some vehicles have =
these and others don't? What is their purpose? Is the generator not to =
come in contact with the engine block for some reason? What would happen =
if it was connected directly to the adjusting brackets? I just want to =
cover all my bases before I potentially ruin a generator/regulator setup.
