[MV] M101 tire hell...

OK.....what exactly is the deal with the split rims ???? I have got my
m101 ready to go w/ one exception...the tires, and rims.....I guess that
I am getting the run around from the tire dealers, and would like to get
some input from you all.....Not wanting to spend 350 for new mil spec
tires, I decided to get some commercial highway tires to mount on the
mil. split rims...Not a big deal I thought.....WRONG...All of the tire
dealers do not want to put any form of a tire on the rim because they
are concerned about the load limitations.....forget the split rim
issue....it has not been a factor.......Confusing...you bet.....Can
anyone give me any info about what size commercial tires anyone has put
on the military split rims...I really want to be able to go to these
people, and say...put the damm things on...Period...
Secondly, I understand that there are solid rims out there that will
mount up to the hub on the 101...Again, I am having a hard time finding
anyone who can give me any credible info about these
solid(options).....The only thing that seems to be consistent is the
fact that some form of a dodge rim is the magic one.....anyone know what
the magic model/year it might be ?????
