CB's definitely have their advantages. I was bringing up a point for the
"convoy' type user, that wants privacy and no interference.As far as the
US Wx Channels inland, they are used by pilots, with broadcasts for the
area that you receive in and are great, if you want to take a trip more
than 100 miles. VHFs only run from $75-200 and don't have anybody
"stepping" on your signal with their 1k amped CBs (if they want to be
clowns). Food for thought....
