The ball fits into the end of the fork which moves the throwout bearing
carrier and bearing. You can get it back into the fork assuming the
fork isn't broken. The end of the fork has a slot cut in it. At the
end of the slot is a dimple into which the ball fits. Once it is
installed and all hooked up, the tension keeps it from coming out. When
your "bar" broke, it released the tension which allowed the ball to come
out of the slot.

To install, you need to have the cable fork off the "bar" first. Push
the ball end through the hole and to the left of center. You will have
to feel for the end of the fork. Slide the cable into the slot on the
fork. Keeping pressure to the right (towards the transmission), begin
to withdraw the cable. If you have it in the slot, you will not be able
to pull it out. The dimple will have trapped the ball. Now place the
fork back over the "bar" and replace the pin and you should be back in
business.

If your clutch was working okay before the break, it should be okay now.

It really isn't too hard to get reinstalled. You have to do this once
you get a system installed and ready to go. Wish I could give you a
better "visual" description, but such is the limitation of the computer.

Good Luck,

Jim
