You mean the NOTEK (not NOTEX) black out light. NOTEK is the short
form of the manufacturers name: Nova Technik, München.

This black out headlight (looks a little bit like the good old German
steel helmet) was fitted on every German Vehicle in WW2. At the rear
these vehicles had the NOTEK Nachtmarschgerät (black out tail light),
which allowed to see the distance to the vehicle in front of you in
the convoy.

My Kettenkrad has a NOTEK set, too.

Pay attention, there are lots of bad repros on the market.
