Well..... let's just say these guys didn't take care of their
equipment. When I got my M-135 from the town highway dept. I started
a careful assessment of its condition, this is why I found:
What I knew: the govenor on the air compressor had to be whacked to
get it to come up from zero, replaced that. The brakes leaked, fixed
that. The emergency brake was broken off from the transfer case,
replaced that, but didn't notice that the ratchet on the operating
handle was stripped of 2-1/2 teeth, got that fixed now.
The bolts on the drive shafts were all loose, of the four on the shaft
between the transmission and the transfer case two were hand tight,
one was missing a nut and the fourth was GONE!! Fixed.
Stripped pinion in the middle axle, broken axle shaft in the rear
axle. Both fixed.
No wood under the bed, still.
Loose drag link end, fixed. Steering gear box leaked, so does the new
one!
Tightened all bolts on the head, water pump, exhaust/intake manifold.
Windshield wipers didn't work right, fixed that.
In other words everything that could come loose did, no one ever
tightened anything!
Maybe you ought to check that new one you just got. Like we need a
reason to play with them.
