Yeah, it struck me as a bit weird too. Maybe a case of someone thinking
they could put whatever markings took their fancy on a British vehicle
deep in the US and no-one would be any the wiser?

Not these days; with all of us world wide online!

All the unit markings I have seen on Ferrets tend to be on the mudguards
(British English = wings, American English = Fenders) sometimes you see
unit symbols on the front plate of the turret, in English usage.
