Because your manufacturers are incapable of producing viable vehicles?
The Chrysler/Daimler-Benz agreement was a merger with 50/50 control. (The 12
member board comprises of 6 members from both Chrysler and Daimler.) One
could make the argument that Chrysler took Daimler over using the logic
displayed here. (Especially since Daimler was worried that the deal would
have been considered a takeover by Chrysler by their regulations if less
than 90 percent of the shareholders of Daimler approved the deal.) I'm glad
that a U.S. company owns Mercedes now.... ;)
