Put it all together and you are going to get a replacement for the
Hummer
with the following features:
- Coke can cooler/dispenser
- Airconditioning, but only to the cargo bay
- Leather seat and trim
- Constant full time oil leak (something the Germans will regret)
- 9.9 litre V12 petrol engine producing 150 HP but with a huge amount
of
torque at 1.5mpg
- pre-selective "crash" gearbox (synchro is a luxury the troops
don't need)
- full time 2 wheel drive but with an optional 6 wheel drive,
selectable
from underneath by the use of 3 spanners.
- cooling system, best suited to artic driving, overheats anywhere else
- full amphibious, but only after 76 hours of preparation
- fully air portable, but only after 152 hours of preparation
- rated load capacity of 100kg
- maintenance "load" of 2 hours maintenance for every 1 hour of use
- 200 grease nipples in the most inaccesible locations immaginable (the
Rolls Royce "push the button the button once every 6 months greasing
system" was thought to be too outdated)
- seating for 1 (with emergency seating for 1 more,externally mounted)
- canvas top, kevlar sides, depleted uranium belly.
Sounds ridiculous doesn't it; but most of the above I have got from
vehicles that do exist and added just a tinsy bit of exageration.
