Something I have done out of desperation is to use an impact wrench, and
while the impact is trying to loosen the nut, I grab the socket with my hand
(probably should wear leather gloves) and try to turn it the opposite way.
This seems to amplify the impact from the tool. I know this must sound
crazy, but it has worked for me.
