Mark - Check the engine dataplate on
the right side of the engine. My
truck is a '71, but the engine plate
(on an obviously newer engine)
indicates a manufacture date of
12/87; hence, a replacement engine.
I believe rebuilds may also be
indicated on the dataplates.
