[MV] M38A1 tires...Cooper

My M38A1 had Cooper cross country 700 x 16 cc (and lw) 6 ply made in
USA, DOT ROPBA1 2, Load Range C, tires on it when I got it.. They
look like standard
jeep tires, but they have 3 chevrons cut 1/4 of the way from each side
on the ridges. The center cheveron is larger than those on each side of
center.
The tire also has "Military OZ" on it. Does anyone know wx these are
good, better, or best and what their particular application was. "cross
country" doesn't mean much to me. Thanks R.
