Yes, it works great! We struggled for hours before that one dawned on us.
Now we always keep telling ourselves "think simple...think 1945" and before
too long the answer presents itself. Old mechanics are the best resource for
these things. My grandfather was a fleet truck and bus mechanic and while he
is gone his tools live on with us. We've never thrown anything away no
matter how strange it looks because we figure he made it for a reason and
may come in handy some day. Now when we buy an old toolbox with some junk in
it we keep everything that looks like it had a purpose and sometimes they
do. I can't remember offhand what the job was but we said "you know...if we
only had a bar shaped like this, bent like that, with this for an end this
would be easy." Then the light bulb goes on, we go to the ancient tool
section and like magic there one is! We're convinced Grandpa stills hangs
around the barn just to keep an eye on us and teach from time to time.
